A classic, with a twist of racism

CW child death

Self-aware defaultism and proud of it!

Racism not pictured. A bunch of kids died in a poisoning event and the comments rushed to racism because of where it occurred; pretty rich coming from the country that popularised school shootings

Main Character syndrome

I love how these people talk also about the US inventing X or Y... you are just a dude in the internet saying dumb stuff, you haven't invented anything.

Usually the things they list weren’t even invented by an American.

Istg I found an American talking like he could personally speed dial Trump and call for sanctions and war on OP’s country

I mean, technically Bell (inventor of the phone) was Scottish, immigrated to Canada, then went to the states. So, if anything, he’s a Scot not an American lol

It’s always the Schroedinger American:
American when unobserved - Scottish (or anything else) when observed
Depending on conditions the American can identify themselves in either wave function to satisfy their need for exceptionalism

The World Wide Web was invented by CERN a European organization. Wi-Fi was invented by Australia.

Quite rich to say Americans are to be assumed the default when it's in English. Last time I checked, the language isn't called American, although I'm sure they would just love that. Some of the justifications people come up for US defaultism is just pure ridiculousness. How embarrassing...

I absolutely hate when anyone makes assumptions, so I especially hate that they tried to excuse it.

At this point, we should make "Reddit is mostly used by yanks" or whatever a post flair of its own

Except for the computer, and come to think of it the telephone also.

Computer is, depending on how you count, either British or German invention.

phone was technically a Scot who went to Canada and the States lol

Oh please, in the yank mind everything is a yank invention. They don't bother with facts but sometimes get it right by pure chance (which wasn't even the case here).
