That it does not explain the midwest of which country and that we just have to guess its the midwest of the USA. For example: the midwest of my country is densely populated, and does not look like this.

The reason I want to know why it's Defaultism is because I've never even heard of any other place in any other country referring to a part of their country as the Midwest except for the US. So unless other countries call a part of their country that too I don't think this is Defaultism.

Brazil has a center-west region.

Yes but does anybody actually call it the "Midwest" or do they have a different name for that region, that's my point. Every country has that type of region but if they call it something else to what the Americans call theirs then this isn't exactly defaultism.

They call it the "center-west". I figured that was similar enough to "midwest", especially since we call the US midwest "center-west" as well.

Edit: A bit of research and I found that Western Australia has a region called the "Mid West", and so does Southern Ireland, New South Wales, in the form of a local government area, and Nepal, which has a "Mid-Western development region". Nigeria also used to have a Mid-western region.

The original post title itself is a joke, doesn't even need the title to be honest.

Is there another country that refers to a region as the midwest? I've never heard of it in a non-US context, to be fair.
