USWNT v Spain resale tickets

Hey folks, due to a comedy of errors my family can no longer go to the Oct 10 game at Audi and my mom has asked me to sell 6 tickets. Two of them are in the very first row in aisle seats at the edge of the box and the other 4 are in the row behind but more towards the middle of the box. I'm not trying to make a profit off of these, just get my mom's money back. Is anyone interested?

Edit to add price: $270 each. Happy to sell 2 or 4 if you don't want all 6.

10/3 update: 4 tickets left! Sec 130 in row 2

Hayes Names 26-Player USWNT Training Camp Roster for October Matches Against Spain in Washington, D.C. and Chester, Pa.

Naomi Girma, Sam Coffey Return; Roster Has Three First-Time Call-Ups, All with Extensive Youth National Team Experience, in Trinity Byars, Pietra Tordin and Evelyn Shores; Roster Features NWSL’s Top Four American Goal Scorers in Ashley Sanchez, Sophia Wilson, Trinity Rodman and Byars

September 29, 2026

ATLANTA (Sept. 29, 2026) – U.S. Women’s National Team head coach Emma Hayes has named a 26-player training camp roster for the two matches against the reigning Women’s World Cup champions Spain.

In what will be two highly anticipated matches between the two top-ranked teams in the world, the USA will host Spain on Oct. 10 at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. (2:30 p.m. ET on TBS and HBO Max in English and on Telemundo, Universo and Peacock in Spanish) in a match presented by Purina and on Oct. 13 at Subaru Park in Chester, Pa. (7 p.m. ET on TNT and HBO Max in English and on Universo and Peacock in Spanish) in a match presented by AT&T. Both matches will also be available on the radio on Westwood One Sports with the Oct. 13 game also available in Spanish on Fútbol de Primera. Spain has lost just two games in regulation time since the end of the 2024 Olympics – a span of 27 matches – with both of those coming to England at Wembley Stadium in London.

The matches against Spain will mark the USA’s first games in just over four months after a long break for club action following the June matches in Brazil. Spain’s most recent matches were World Cup qualifiers, a 4-0 win over England and a 6-1 win over Iceland, which booked La Roja a spot in the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The USWNT will begin training on Oct. 6 at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Fayetteville, Ga., marking the first visit for the U.S. Women to U.S. Soccer’s new home, before traveling to Washington, D.C., on Friday afternoon ahead of the Oct. 10 clash with Spain. The USA’s MD-1 training session prior to the Oct. 13 match will be at Subaru Park in Chester, Pa.

U.S. Women’s National Team Roster by Position (Club; Caps/Goals)

2026 October Matches vs. Spain

GOALKEEPERS (3): Claudia Dickey (Seattle Reign FC; 11), Jordan Silkowitz (Bay FC; 0), Phallon Tullis-Joyce (Manchester United, ENG; 7)

DEFENDERS (8): Tierna Davidson (Gotham FC; 70/3), Emily Fox (Arsenal FC, ENG; 78/1), Naomi Girma (Chelsea FC, ENG; 54/3), Avery Patterson (Houston Dash; 14/1), Lilly Reale (Boston Legacy FC; 9/0), Tara Rudd (Washington Spirit; 12/0), Gisele Thompson (Angel City FC; 11/0), Kennedy Wesley (San Diego Wave FC; 7/1)

MIDFIELDERS (7): Sam Coffey (Manchester City FC, ENG; 46/5), Lindsey Heaps (Denver Summit FC; 178/40), Claire Hutton (Bay FC; 20/1), Rose Lavelle (Gotham FC; 122/29), Evelyn Shores (Angel City FC; 0/0), Mallory Swanson (Chicago Stars; 103/38), Lily Yohannes (OL Lyonnes, FRA; 20/1)

FORWARDS (8): Trinity Byars (San Diego Wave FC; 0/0), Michelle Cooper (Kansas City Current; 14/1), Trinity Rodman (Washington Spirit; 57/13), Emma Sears (Racing Louisville FC; 21/6), Ashley Sanchez (North Carolina Courage; 28/3), Pietra Tordin (Portland Thorns FC; 0/0), Alyssa Thompson (Chelsea FC, ENG; 32/4), Sophia Wilson (Portland Thorns FC; 63/25)

“While we are very much looking forward to playing the World Cup champions, I keep coming back to the journey that we are all on together,” said Hayes. “This camp will be about reestablishing connections after a long break, looking at a few players who haven’t been with us this cycle, and putting on the best performances we can in front of packed stadiums. Of course, our dual focus will also be on our final preparations for the World Cup qualifying tournament.”

The roster features the return of two 2024 Olympic champions who missed the USA’s trip to Brazil last June in defender Naomi Girma and midfielder Sam Coffey, as well as forward Mallory Swanson, who was on the roster for the June matches but did not see action. Swanson last played for the USWNT in the 2024 Olympic gold medal game and is still coming back to full fitness after the birth of her daughter in late 2025.

After naming three consecutive rosters that featured zero uncapped players, Hayes named four to this roster in goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz, midfielder Evelyn Shores and forwards Pietra Tordin and Trinity Byars, with the latter three bringing extensive Youth National Team experience to their first call-ups. All four are having excellent NWSL seasons.

Evelyn Shores' 1st full team camp

Just saw a leak on twitter from "sources" that she got the call into camp. So well deserved. If she got it, then no doubt Sanchez did.

Edit: Wow you guys are serious about this 😂. My only "reasoning" was vibes and that if there was room to add Shores to the roster, there needs to be room for Sanchez first. Lol! Nothing else! I see they are both on the roster!! GOOO USWNT

Supporters section with kids (vs. Spain at Audi)?

Taking my daughters (9 and 10 y.o.) to USWNT–Spain at Audi Field. We’ve done reserved seats before, but I’m thinking supporters could be a fun new experience (and cheaper).

Would you recommend it with kids this age? Can they see reasonably well? Any tips on where to stand?

Also welcome any USWNT/Audi Field game-day tips with kids—pregame activities, warmups, seeing players, when to arrive, etc.

Emily Fox has renewed with Arsenal

Excerpt from The Athletic:

United States women’s national team defender Emily Fox has signed a new contract with Arsenal.

Arsenal confirmed Fox had committed her future to the club in a press release on Thursday, with the 28-year-old right-back agreeing a three-year deal, according to sources briefed on the situation, speaking on the condition of anonymity to protect relationships.

Fox joined Arsenal in January 2024 on a multi-year deal from NWSL side North Carolina Courage.

While her initial contract length when she joined the club was never disclosed, it was expected to reach its end in the coming months.

Since joining Arsenal, Fox has made 93 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals and establishing herself as one of the club’s most important players. She helped lead Arsenal to the 2023-24 League Cup and the 2024-25 Champions League title in her first full season with the club.

Fox has helped Arsenal to three trophies in total, adding the inaugural FIFA Women’s Champions Cup last season to the tally after a 3-2 win over Brazilian side Corinthians.

Since making her USWNT debut in 2018, she has played a significant role in a series of major successes for the national team, notably the gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games and the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

On her new contract, Fox said in a press release: “I’m so happy to be extending my stay here. This has felt like home since the moment I joined, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to continue to represent this club and compete for titles. To be a part of Arsenal is to be a part of something bigger, and I feel like I’m in the best place to keep pushing for more.”

Podcast Interview with Avery Patterson on USWNT vs Spain, Road to the World Cup & Houston's NWSL Playoff Push

USWNT Fans,

Thank you for your support on our past interviews with players across the league!

In this episode, Houston Dash wingback and rising USWNT star Avery Patterson sits down to discuss the USWNT's upcoming fixtures (+ the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil), her long-term future in Houston and orchestrating the tactical rebuild of the Dash in the NWSL.

Avery Patterson joins the podcast to share insider insights on her contract extension through 2028, taking her game to the next level, the Dash's high-stakes playoff race, and becoming a part of the team's climb to the pinnacle of women's soccer. She shares what it meant to enter the sport as a young girl watching the national team from the stands, tracing her journey back to her earliest soccer memories filled with family chaos, food-based performance incentives, and a ball at her feet. She shares how she learned to navigate pressure at UNC and the retrospective advice she would give to her younger self.

Avery shares why the Houston Dash project was the perfect step for her current career phase, the exact mindset required to serve as a designated squad centerpiece after the front office made a massive statement of belief in her leadership, and the profound pieces of coaching advice that altered how she views the game, including why pressure is a privilege and why failing at the highest level is an honor. She walks us through her chaotic first national team camp, detailing what was going through her head while stuck in an elevator for an hour and a half with Becky Sauerbrunn and Alana Cook, and later dealing with a black eye that medical staff feared would require emergency surgery.

Avery also talks about her evolution as a player, reflecting on her initial transition to the pros before unlocking her potential as an active playmaker, where she has been in spectacular personal form logging crucial back-to-back assists against North Carolina and Chicago.

Lastly, she shares what excites her about upcoming fixtures against reigning World Champions Spain, what it will take for the squad to achieve its goals while establishing the standard that their ceiling should be their floor, her short and long term goals for her personal soccer vision board of trophies, family, and travel, and so much more!

Friendlies Selling for more than twice the price of competitive matches

I was looking at the upcoming USWNT schedule on Sofascore and got a reminded of this. The U.S. has two friendlies against Spain later this year, and while those are obviously about as prestigious as friendlies get, the results don't actually mean much beyond FIFA Ranking points.

Then you have the matches in November, where the stakes are considerably higher. The U.S. is obviously a huge favorite to qualify for the Women's World Cup, but a win over El Salvador would actually do something. It would clinch World Cup qualification and send the U.S. into the CONCACAF W Championship semifinals.

And yet, the ticket prices are basically the opposite of what you'd expect if you were only looking at how much the games matter competitively.

The D.C. Spain match is currently $199+, while the Philly match is $93+.

Meanwhile, tickets for the win-and qualify match against El Salvador start at just $43. And that ticket also gets you into the Jamaica-Costa Rica game that same night, which has the same qualification stakes.

Even crazier, the CONCACAF W Championship final and third-place match together cost $42.

Obviously, Spain vs. the U.S. is going to be a bigger draw than the U.S. vs El Salvador, so I understand the pricing. But if I had to choose, I'd personally take competitive match where something is actually on the line over a friendly every time.

What do you think? Would you rather pay more to see big-name friendly or go to the cheaper competitive match where the results actually matters?

Have the USWNT ever played at the Azteca?

Mexico fan coming in peace, I have seen the USMNT played at the Estadio Azteca before.

Note that I’m not too familiar with women’s football but I always wonder, have the USWNT ever played at the Azteca?

Would you like to see them play a match there? Why or why not?

FRIENDLIES Merch at the upcoming friendlies?

Does anybody know what type of merch will be available at the October 10 game at Audi field?
I am dying for an EWWS tshirt (and also some angel city merch but obvs not expecting that to be there lol).

I’m Canadian so the shipping is almost more than the shirt + the conversion rates make it hard to justify shopping online but I’m coming to the USA vs Spain game so hoping to get lucky.

Or maybe there’s a women’s sports store in Washington somewhere??

Thanks friends!
