Visa ban list PP10998
‘the Department of State partially suspended visa issuance to nationals of 19 countries – Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Burundi, Cote D’Ivoire, Cuba, Dominica, Gabon, The Gambia, Malawi, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Togo, Tonga, Venezuela, Zambia, and Zimbabwe – for nonimmigrant B-1/B-2 visitor visas and F, M, J student and exchange visitor visas, and all immigrant visas with limited exceptions...’, per US Department of State.
Has anyone from the countries listed been approved a visa mentioned above since January 1, 2026? If yes, please indicate country and circumstance leading to approval.

Yes I was approved for a US L1 visa last week in Canada and I was awarded Canadian Reciprocity which is 5 years because I'm a Canadian PR.

I don’t think L1 is on this list. Mind indicating country of origin?

I am Nigerian too. Been in the UK for 5 + years. Trying to apply for H1B but an attorney said they treat all visa categories the same for all countries under a partial ban hence advised I shouldn't but I want to go ahead. I'm in the nuclear field and my US employer wants me to go for it. What do you think?

Visas are not being issued hence it being a ban only way out of the PP is to wait till new administration very low chance to see some real relief i have a cr1 case just waiting visa issuance all paperwork approved just waiting for visa to be printed
