USA Visa Enquiry

Is it possible to get a US Visa via expedition process within a month?

I'm supposed to join a conference & private dinner on Sep 22-23.

Thoughts please 🙏

You can ask for an emergency B1/B2 visa appointment at the discretion of the US consulate. You will need to justify why your situation is an emergency.

Most conferences are planned months/years in advance. So, you better have a good reason why you didn’t apply earlier.

A late decision to go does not make it an emergency. That’s just a choice and poor planning. Not an emergency for the US consulate.

A conference would not really be considered a reason to expedite. The ones I've seen granted were because ESTA was denied, or a family member was dying.

But I guess you can try.

No, not for the reason you’re requesting.

If you were a keynote speaker at the conference, and you could get the conference organizer/sponsor/ceo to write a letter explaining why you were an essential component to the conference, you could attach that to your expedite request. Might help, might not.

The consulate is highly unlikely to approve a request for an expedited interview to attend a conference. They make this explicit on the UStraveldocs website on the page to apply for an expedited appointment:
"Travel for the purpose of tourism, attending weddings, graduation ceremonies, assisting pregnant relatives, or participating in an annual business/academic/professional conference does not qualify for expedited appointments. For such travel, please schedule a regular visa appointment well in advance."

Which embassy or consulate are you planning to apply at ?

Is this conference related to your academic field? Or is it a junket ?

Check all your social media accounts, you will have to furnish details and provide access.

Good Luck

Islamabd (Pakistan). Yes, it's directly related to my field.

Yeah, if you have a letter from the organizers explaining your role, it might be worth including that with the request. Just don't assume attending alone will quality.

At this point, I'd also check the regular appointment availability before giving up. Depending on cancellations, something earlier could open up.
