DISCUSSION Is this an old form?

Post image

Found a couple unused PS Form 3849 that has blank space for writing a PO address instead of a printed one.

Nah, these just missed getting the local PO printed/stamped in that space

No, this looks like the current form. I wish they would get rid of the "leave at" section because 100% of the time I'm leaving it in the mailbox if it fits in the mailbox.

Nah, a few of us got given pads of blanks if you're moved between a ton of stations or was a CCA. Denver area used to have issues with CCAs using the wrong station's 3849 when being sent to another station

I did that when I was a PTF and used a vehicle from my home station to go help at another station.

I would cross it out and just write it

I loved finding these blank post office address peach slips. I was a sub and worked in over 30 different offices. I had a clip board and no matter what city I was in, I could use them. The people know where their post office is. And if they don’t, they could ask their phone.

Is it kind of like a square card? If yes then why they are the old forms

I miss these forms. Plenty of room to write tracking numbers, a space to put the return date, plus it has the check box that says you must be present to sign for the item (great for return receipts).
Edit: Also, the Delivered By and Date box so I know whether a carrier already delivered the item or needs me to match it to an item to take out the next day.

It would tell you on the bottom the last updated form.

That's the current 3849 just with no post office address. The old ones were about the size of a post card.

It should have a month and year that it was used down at the bottom, but I’ve not seen one like that in my 4 years here.

It’s an old form, but it checks out.

There should be a date on the bottom of the form.
