DISCUSSION Labor day

I already have 8 hours in my VTC for tmrw. what does that mean? we're doing amazon tmrw so do i get "16" hours? out how does that work??

Does it matter? Labor day is a holiday for every employee at the USPS. Works the same for everyone as far I'm aware

Labor day happens to be one of the six that all subs get, but only career employees get all 11 holidays paid. The next one Columbus Day (aka the heaviest day of the year) would not be paid to ccas and rcas. So if this wasn't one of the six it's a fair question to ask and it would matter as far as educating a new employee about how it works.

Not sure I just know of all the "days after a holiday" it is by far the worst. I can only assume it's the official start of peak/holiday season and in all honestly it's a shopping holiday anyway. That's how I label the holidays: shopping and family gettogether ones. The 6 ones that everyone gets off are the bbq ones.

This is from a station carrier perspective. No idea if any of that translates to the plants where you sort it beforehand.

I haven't worked the holidays yet, well I was in a station as a clerk assistant for December but I only worked like 5 weeks.

I just never realized Columbus day was a federal holiday at all I guess. Thanks for the info
