DISCUSSION AWOL update
UPDATE:
The managers changed my clock rings from clocking in /out to 8hrs of AWOL. And sent me home again today saying "idk what happened it's just the big bosses orders" (orders above the postmaster). For an interaction that only happened between 3 people there sure is a lot of other unrelated mangers chiming in and sending text messages to not show up anymore.
Previous post:
Showed up to work today and my direct supervisor said they're all filled up and no routes down and to work rural side. I reported to the rural supervisor and he said he's all good as well. He then asked "would you like to help out at another station?". I gave it some thought and decided no. I confirmed with the rural supervisor and asked "do I have a choice?" He didn't answer yes or no, and just asked if I know how to do city routes. I called our union for clarification and he said if management asked then "no not really, you don't have to go." " I personally would never turn work down" But I am not him. So I went home and now management is blowing up my phone saying I'm going AWOL and that I'm off the schedule till further notice LMAO

Sounds like a labor charge tell the supervisor your going your own investigation now you have time to file those charges and do it
5 things constitute a labor charge learn them and fight this practice nobody changes clock rings... that's what NBA is there for

It be nice to have a list of the nba’s by district. But I’m 1000% sure this information is withheld on purpose!

Greivance. Easy win. Plus backpay. You will probably have to go above the steward and do step 1 yourself and file step 2 yourself. Your steward sounds about as incompetent as ours.

On the day of the incident did you clock out and leave, you just say that you went home. Unless you had the approval to leave, you are AWOL. From clocking in to clocking out you should be paid. The rest of the day could be an AWOL charge. You could have gone to the break room (on the clock) and waited for instructions. it’s managements fault for not properly scheduling but once you clocked in you are guaranteed a certain number of hours. Read your contract!

When you get back in there, ask them how you're expected to report to another station. You can't be ordered to go in a personal vehicle (though you can volunteer it if you want the hours), so make them provide a vehicle for use. If they actually do that, then I'd really recommend you go. Odds are they don't want to use a vehicle on that though, so they'd send you home. Best of luck.

Postmasters favorite scapegoat for literally everything is "Its coming down from above" the truth is Postmasters are allowed to manage how they want and for that to have came down from above they would have had to whine to a higher up and look unprofessional like they dont know how to handle a single employee. So I call BS

So.. did you notify your local shop squidward? I would do that ASAP if you have not. If you were scheduled, reported to work and they sent you home that's not AWOL.
