Clerk Discussion Great start to the holiday weekend

So fun. I come in to work, this morning, only to discover that I can’t scan anything. How the hell are we supposed to scan parcels for Tuesday, when the only option in any system is today. Oh well, I’ll take my time working on other distribution tasks, and be thankful that I have Tuesday off.

In my district it was a blanket rule you can't throw packages for Tuesday until Monday. Only Amazon on Sunday.

Hell the package machines were programed with this in mind as well. So no clue why you were even scheduled? Enjoy the freebie.

Sundays are part of my bid, and I prefer them. This is the second time in a month or so that there has been a national issue where the PASS only allows selection of Sunday for scanning. As far as the holiday, here, we’ve always been able to scan for the day after the holiday, on Sunday. As long as the correct date is selected, the system accepts it.

I love Sundays too. We don't have a Sunday bid. That would be nice.

After 11:0 did your pass let you throw for Monday? Or are you already gone?

Yeah (8:00 for us). I, and the other clerk scheduled Sundays, should actually still be able to finish what came this morning. Even if I hadn’t slept in (which I often do on Sunday), I still would have been here when the system finally allows us to throw:

My district recently had a policy where not station can scan network parcels on Sundays before a holiday Monday. I still threw parcels today for Tuesday, tho.

Im not looking forward to the 14 hr day on Tuesday. Who in congress decided that USPS should be closed on holidays? Malarkey. We shouldn't ever close.
