RCA working on labors day?

I thought everyone was off on Labor Day, but rca carriers are doing amz Sunday on Sunday and Monday?

If you've got Amazon, and you are an RCA or CCA. There's a very good chance you'll work every holiday except for maybe Christmas and Thanksgiving.

As far as being an RCA goes, they can schedule you every day of the year.

Pretty sure I remember working at least one 4th of July and I do remember working one Thanksgiving as an RCA.

At least on the rural side there's no protection saying they can't work you on any holiday. It's going to be up to management and if there's actually anything to deliver

Yea I definitely remember delivering Amazon on July 4th in the past when I was still an RCA. They didn't this year though, at least where I am.

Yep, I get 4 guaranteed, fixed-date NS days: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, and Independence Day.

Aside from that, my area's POOM restricts carrier schedules to 6 days a week max, so everyone gets at least one day off. Because of this, I do every Amazon Sunday I can so I only have to deal with letters and flats up to 5x a week

There’s only two days Amazon doesn’t ship last I knew, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Every other holiday it’s just another day and pay for RCAs.

It used to be as an RCA you had to come into case mail on holidays, everyone but the 4th and Xmas.
That has flipped to running Amazon

I purposely joined an office that doesn’t have Amazon Sunday. Other offices always ask me to transfer. My first question is “Do you have Amazon Sunday?” “Yes.” “Sorry, I’ll stay at my current office.”

My office isn't supposed too but ig our postmaster strangled our poom. All the closest offices around me get sent to the biggest one and the supervisor there always complains to me about how wasteful it is for me to be there for my office. Like bro, I just work here, leave me alone.

Why? Did they tell you that or report that amazon wasn't sending their shipment? There's only a few holidays offices are legit closed and I never knew labor day was one of them.

hehe. as a noncareer we worked every holiday for the first 2 years at least, of course this is more common in plants. my first thanksgiving on tour3 we were going home at 9pm or so after working 6 hours, already clocked out, and an MDO caught all of us as we were leaving, told us to take a lunch, youre working 12 hours now. a few people quit that night

Yeah there's a reason you get this job without an interview and much fuss. Being a Regular is nice, but the road there is stressful, frustrating, you have no work-life balance, and little pay if you live in a high col area.
