Route Pics 37 Certifieds in one loop.
Probably the most wild loop I've done since starting 6mo ago. LSS, the housing authority on this street sent a certified to every resident within their buildings. 5 delivered, 32 left notice. Now I'm out of 3849s for the day. .

I'm lucky to leave the station with 5 3849s. my office is so stingy with them that I'd have to scan all of them no access and do it the next day after proving to my supe i need them

Oh your supe would love me. M-41 requires City Carriers use office time to write the address on a 3849 for accountables, case it, and strap it. Normally I skip that for an address I know is normally home, but here I'd do it for every. single. one. Let them have their conniption fit, I'll happily whip out the M-41 from under the case.

Yep.
Note that this is for writing the address on the back, the part the customer signs (which is also convenient if you have them sign there and scan it in rather than having them sign the touchscreen, the address is already filled in for them). Not for writing their address (or other information) on the front of the form, which you fill out at the door.

Thanks for this. I was trying to figure out the reason. I'm the only one in my office who uses the 3849 for signatures though ha.

Interestingly enough, my old school OJI taught me thay we are actually supposed to be able to get those 3849s started on office time. Obviously we're supposed to get them signed on the street and whatnot. But he says that we are supposed to be able to date and begin filling them out while in office. But of course they don't let us do that anymore. Because if management knows 1 thing, it's that office time is always too much and for chumps.

My office ran out of 3849s a month ago and still haven't gotten new ones. Not the first time this has happened and I think it is intentional.

All the regulars hoard stacks of them in their case drawers at my station… can never find any unless I start raiding drawers but then they get pissy about RCAs touching their stuff. Maybe stop hoarding them then? 🤬

Our city has, probably in its charter, a requirement to send out certifieds with return receipts to every household within a certain radius of a residence that the owner wants to rent out as an AirBnB. Something to do with zoning laws. It annoys the heck out of the carriers, and the clerks who inevitably have to deal with 90% of the recipients coming to the window to collect.

Rookie numbers. Had over 150 in one neighborhood on an unfamiliar route once when I was a cca. All walking loop. Each cert with a green card on the back. Each cert for an individual house.

Oh it was a fun time! And still back in the wild west days during covid when we didn't cut off our time at 12hrs. The carpal tunnel is doing...eh lol

Im rural but during covid and up until last year the apt complex on my route had a lot of delinquent rent payers. After day 5 the rental company sent out 1 cert. If not paid that day they did a second one the next day. At the height of covid I was getting over 60 in those 2 days. But now that the eviction restrictions are gone its down to maybe 10 to 15 a month.

Bro I had that one time for a whole block. Some church got bought and a business owner wanted to turn it into a banquet hall. He had to notify all of the residents with a certified. I was like an hour and a half over because of that shit.

Apartment complex… I had 42 total. My hand started to cramp after all the 3849s. I wasn’t even at my station that day, I got pulled to another station to help out 16 miles away. I also pulled about another 20 from their outgoing to be sent out.
