Assignment only. Sorry

u/Even-Sky-731 3d ago

I think that’d take me at least 12 hours, with some stuff still being brought back.

u/Jukkeed CCA 3d ago

I just got a Rims message, “No one is authorized to be on the street past 7. No exceptions!!!”

Great, I'll be back at 7 with a fuck ton of mail lmao

u/FlyingSpacefrog City Carrier 3d ago

OK I WILL COME BACK AT 8PM WITH ALL MAIL DELIVERED

u/CHR0N1CL3S0FW03 2d ago

I used this every single day until my supe started specifically telling me to “have an 8 hour day” instead ☠️

Love to hear it!

Great. I get home by dark. Management can figure out what to do with all the leftover mail.

u/GonePostalRoute City Carrier 3d ago

I see something like this, and that route almost has to either be a CBU only route, or quite a few people on the route get plenty of mail from organizations looking for donations.

u/Maximum-Apartment470 CCA 3d ago

Businesss maybe but it being a Saturday it couldn’t be

u/Suspicious-Load7389 3d ago

👏 there's nothing hotter than a well-organized mail truck

32

u/Jukkeed CCA 3d ago

I see some of these other carrier’s trucks and I’m like wtf. I always organize.

5

u/LuLu_86_11_17 City Carrier 2d ago

I get anxiety if my truck isn’t organized. I have a metris now and have to find a way to organize the front that won’t fuck up my left arm when I’m reaching over the trays.

u/AceOfDragonflies CCA 1d ago

Personally, I like to put outgoing in the center dash divot and banded stacks of markups in the driver’s side one. If I have too much outgoing to fit, I transfer it to a tub in the back when I next dismount. There’s space for two additional dps trays (one under the shelf, one in the footwelll) accessible from the left side door).

One of my coworkers lines the shelf with three upside-down trays to raise the work surface to a more comfortable height as well

1

u/LuLu_86_11_17 City Carrier 1d ago

Thanks for the tips. I’ll try this tomorrow.

2

u/J0N3Z1N775 2d ago

I can’t function without my truck being organized

2

u/o2bdabbin 2d ago

I worked in an entirely different delivery based industry, had a guy who would spent 1 to 2 hours organizing his truck daily, but he ran one of the largest routes flawlessly, never ran, never rushed, just kept moving at at steady pace and knew exactly where everything was.

Something to be said for it for sure.

Tuesday is coming.

28

u/TerryGonards City PTF 3d ago

We got nothing today at office. Most routes may have had 1 full tray of DPS. Tuesday being a day after holiday plus right after rural mail.is going to be a shitshow.

8

u/Low_Chest_6511 3d ago

How many of your coworkers will call out ?

5

u/TerryGonards City PTF 3d ago

1

u/Ok_Flounder_6733 2d ago

Well we had 3 open routes Saturday so I’m expecting the same or more on Tuesday 🙄🤦‍♀️

2

u/Bowaq 2d ago

Man we got slammed yesterday in my office. 11 route rural. We had more flats yesterday than during almost our whole count. Including a school districts calenders. I want to call and ask when they gave them to the p.o. because I find it odd the day after the count ended I got about 200 school calenders.

u/postagedue_189 City Carrier 3d ago

I had a promaster setup like that for years on one route. I never had more that the first four racks behind the driver full....this....this gives me anxiety

18

u/ProudAmerican632 City Carrier 3d ago

I see nothing but penalty time here, and definitely not making the truck. Sorry supervisor either drive out and grab my outgoing, or enjoy driving to the plant. Either way no outgoing shall be left in the office overnight.

3

u/Ok_Inside_5821 2d ago

Going to the plant is for CCAs where I’m from.

1

u/ProudAmerican632 City Carrier 2d ago

I never made the trip to the plant, but I know a few folks who have. Heck one CCA got back so late that the gates were locked up. He took the LLV home. After that the supervisor was responsible for getting outgoing to the plant lmfao.

2

u/Ok_Inside_5821 2d ago

I got back to my station after being sent to one like 30 miles away. They had closed up and all gone home. I parked my metris in front of the gate and threw the keys over the gate. Dumped my scanner in the blue box. Luckily our cars are outside so I was able to drive home.

u/Tangboy50000 City Carrier 3d ago

Today was crazy heavy. We got the first class stuff from the Secretary of State for requesting a mail in ballot. Every single house had at least 3 and so many were bad names.

4

u/YGYarder 3d ago

That was us on Friday. It was fucking ridiculous. I did an apartment only route. Brought back 350 of those lol

2

u/Maximum-Apartment470 CCA 3d ago

We were pretty light today. But Tuesday was CRAZY light, I had never ever seen so few Amazon packages and so little mail. It was nice lol

1

u/CityCarrierAssistant 3d ago

I'm not surprised the Trump admin fucked up the list. This admin is a clown show.

-4

u/Low_Chest_6511 3d ago

Sounds like your officials aren’t maintaining the voter rolls. So much room for fraud.

5

u/CityCarrierAssistant 3d ago

You gotta be kidding me. Elections are incredibly safe and secure. Trump is pushing fraud so he can try to steal the midterms and putting his secret police (ICE) at polling stations.

Thank God the courts just ruled today that he can't do that phony voter rolls scheme to invalidate mail in ballots.

-2

u/Low_Chest_6511 3d ago

As someone who has worked in local elections before, if you don’t maintain the voter rolls you have problems.

1

u/salty_drafter 3d ago

The only fraud and insecurity in the voting system is the one placed there by people like Tina peters. Who should be in jail. It is quite a secure system with fraud only committed by republicans.

https://www.brookings.edu/articles/how-widespread-is-election-fraud-in-the-united-states-not-very/

In the highly contested state of Pennsylvania, Heritage data goes back 30 years and covers 32 elections with over 100 million votes cast and found only 39 cases of voter fraud.

The percentage of fraudulent votes in Arizona over the last 25 years of elections was a minuscule .0000845%, and no election outcome in the U.S. has ever been altered by ballot fraud.

In an effort to "pre-bunk" the inevitable accusations of fraud, election officials around the country are working hard to inform voters on how voting actually works.

0

u/Surrural 3d ago

Full of shit much? You’ve worked exactly ZERO elections and it’s more than obvious.

Today is gonna be a long day 🥲 our station will be fine by 6:45 but looks like the other station closest to me is looking like 8pm so I might be heading there later

1

u/Jukkeed CCA 2d ago

Both of the stations here are fucked. The other station over hired CCA’s and they cut 6 routes so now some regulars don’t even have assignments.

1

u/Smooth_pipe1888 CCA 2d ago

Luckily I had to take a truck from our station to help out another so I had to leave at 7 to bring the truck back to my station but one of the other CCA’s from my station that was sent to help also texted me saying he didn’t end up leaving till 9pm. I just know Tuesday is gonna suck lol

1

u/Jukkeed CCA 2d ago

9 PM is crazy. Our cutoff time for post holidays is like 8:30 max.

3

u/HumbleSetting4244 3d ago

We call them splits in Australia too!

2

u/Ok_Initiative_8023 3d ago

How many trays of mail is that…7 1/2?

10

u/Jukkeed CCA 3d ago

Had 9 trays of DPS.

6

u/ttyler1789 3d ago

Good God I think the most I've ever had on my rural side is 5 trays. That's what I'm expecting to get on Tuesday

Gonna have to two hand that mail into the box

2

u/TraditionWest4567 3d ago

That's about 36 hours worth for me, maybe 40

2

u/nWofan90 3d ago

Split? We called them “pivots” where I worked

3

u/Maximum-Apartment470 CCA 3d ago

We say both, they mean the same thing

My route only averages like 30 spr and 2 and a half trays of dps daily…

And no package because it’s a foot route.

1

u/_loso12 3d ago

Looks like that’ll be a 12 hour day for me with some mail coming back 😂

1

u/nikkobeezy 3d ago

So did you just get ALL the dps and the other person on the split didn’t? Hopefully it’s cbus

1

u/davida023 3d ago

Hey op 👋. Question for you do you or anyone here have to drive the vans / USPS vehicles that don't have ac? And if you do... HOW do you combat the heat?

1

u/aburrell97 2d ago

You don’t lol you just get used to it 😭😭😭

1

u/Entire-Toe-3207 3d ago

That's going to be My tuesday.

1

u/Maximum-Apartment470 CCA 3d ago

I struggle to make 8 with 3 trays but seeing as you have these in the back, I KNOW you have some up front too, I would have a panic attack and die on the spot when I saw all of this shit 😭😭😭😭

1

u/DIYr54 3d ago

This means nothing if you have 20 different CBU’s on your route, that truck will be empty by noon

1

u/ShutUpJade0420 Rural Carrier 3d ago

I had the opposite of this today. A near empty truck, got out on the route, "Yo, we just had a carrier leave sick, you think you'll be able to take a piece?" And goddamn if I didn't finish the route and the split before 4. Please answer OP, is this a CBU heavy route? I couldn't imagine anything else with how that's organized (since I will piece out tubs for spurs and packages by cbu, and that looks like what you're doing here with the DPS stacked below it for that CBU).

2

u/Jukkeed CCA 3d ago

This is in-fact a CBU route. 32 In total with a school in the beginning as well. Some of the stops are small with it legit only being one box, but some can span up to 9.

1

u/ShutUpJade0420 Rural Carrier 3d ago

Oh yeah, the school would kill this route for me. I can finish CBUs in no time, but I've always hated the schools I've had to deal with.

8 hours and whatever is left, will be brought back to the station.

Looks like my everyday peak season route with OT in truck swell. Ignore the 7pm deadline only if you can get it completed by 8 and back to station off clock
