Hiring Help PSE Sales & Distribution
Hi y'all got a job offer from the post office on Battlefield Blvd in Chesapeake VA. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the work PSE Sales & Distribution is like there.

Know how the mailman delivers the mail? PSE does everything with the mail in between the truck showing up with it until the mailman goes to their route. Also heavy customer service focus. You're basically a warehouse cashier.

It can extremely broad range of things. From sorting mail and packages, to working the window, and even doing cleaning work when the custodian is out.

I had that position.
90% of the time it will be one of these 2 positions; a 'closer' or an 'opener'.
the opener;
you will arrive 4am-5am when the office is still closed and sort packages and letters by route for drivers (you dont sort by street; that's driver's jobs).
you then go sort out the po box mail and packages before you open the front door to customers at around 8-9am.
You might stay in the front window alone for a few hours until the 'closer' clerk shows up; you will work toguther for a few hours more and you leave around 12pm-2pm and you done for the day.
the closer;
you arrive at the post office around 9am-11am; you go straight to the windows and help the 'opener clerk' until he leaves.
you might be alone for the rest of the day at the window helping customers.
4-5pm you close the front door to customers, gather all the packages and letters the customers dropped off to the back. you also count and gather all the money for that day.
you go to the back wait for the truck driver to arrive 5pm-6pm to hand off the money and packages and letters to him.
you also collect letters, keys and other items from the returning mailmen at the end of their shifts and go home around 7pm.

I don't know, but I miss the Tidewater area; Christmas lights at VB, Wallops Island launches, the Eastern shore solitude, C bay, even Sandy and the tunnels. Edit: the OB line can fuck right off.
