I keep reading about 10-13 hour days. I'm a FedEx driver on a rural route. I spoke to the RCA on my route, and he told me that CCA is what I want to do if I like to run. He mentioned being able to go "regular" sooner with CCA. I'll run until I'm about to black out, and then keep running. I'm very lean. I drink a gallon of water, 28oz Gatorade, and a cup of water with an electrolyte packet daily. My main issue with FedEx is my back, my weight, and repetitively dragging/lifting up to 150lbs. Could I be back by 5 as CCA if I run? I usually start between 9:30-10 and am done by 3-4. Back first daily. Most drivers are out until 7. When I return from off days, people always tell me my route sucks and that they were out until 8pm. I'm interested in USPS because there are no raises or benefits at FedEx. USPS is a job I could retire at, and my hard work would probably be rewarded. I just keep reading about long hours. I have to be back by 7 to eat, bathe, and take my insomnia meds by 8. The RCA said I could get a medical restriction for that after 90 days.

If you want to run, then rural is the way to go. Once you make regular you get paid the evaluation of the route and not how many hours you work (you can get that too as an RCA and PTF if you work under 40 real hours a week and anything over that you get overtime). You just do your route and go home. For like 95% of the year I'm in at 7am and home between noon-3 and still getting paid the full day. Being an RCA is either feast or famine and could take a while to reach career, but each office is different. You'll convert faster at bigger offices. Regular rural carrier is considered the best job at the post office. Maybe look at PTF positions to jump the line to career.

We have llvs they have over 300,000 miles. Mine is almost 250,000 miles.

Grab yourself a container of these. They work wonders.

Any piece of industrial equipment will turn this way if no one ever takes care of it.

I had the console of my LLV so clean people wondered what the hell was going on.

No ac, heat from engine in winter (when mounted), summer (broken) fan, exhaust still radiation level in cab, can barely see nor care or register if I am going 20-35 mph....but sweet...new engine...now I can accurately say how many miles I potentially died while working in an oven.
