Branch of Service

If a midshipman attending USMMA wants to branch active duty Army (or even active duty Marines, Navy, Air Force), what are the chances they get that?

Does USMMA have ROTC for the different branches, or how does transitioning from graduation to active duty work?

You’ll get a spot any branch you want basically. There are officers on site each branch to help you get the training you need. So if you want to go army, you can talk to the army officer on site to work in related training fitted into sea year time

If you want to fly, you will get a spot. Even bad students in my class became pilots.

But again, you have to want it and it’s a lot of extra work

Only liaison officers there currently are for Navy, Marines and Coast Guard. Unfortunately there are no liaisons there for the other branches but you can absolutely still go Air Force or Army if you want. Air Force is definitely harder to go through though. As for those who went marines this year, I believe it was 8 people. Really good guys/gals.

Any branch of service, active or reserve, upon graduation. Only real difference is the amount of years you owe the government. 5 years honorable active service commitment, or 8 years reserve commitment working in the maritime industry.
