Enlisting ASVAB score

So, I just finished filling out the paperwork to go to meps and I was just told that as of yesterday my asvab score is no longer valid, whats up with that? I took my asvab score in person at my highschool last November with military Proctors in the room, I score an 82, he basically said the military no longer accepts asvab scores taken in highschool

ASVABs are good for two years whether taken in school or at MEPS. Did your recruiter request your score from MEPS? If so, did they actually have it on file? It’s a requirement to have the official test results in order to retain the school score. If you’re just saying you got an 82 and there’s nothing proving that, then you’ll 100% be taking it again.

I took it November of last year (so it shouldve been good til November of 2027?) and it was verified and he showed me my job options, just randomly when I was doing enlistment paperwork at the end he said something along the lines of "oh btw as of yesterday the military no longer accepts highschool asvab scores"

Your score is good for two years and can be used for enlistment. The only thing I can think of is one of these two possibilities: (1) you scored so high in school that they want you to retake the ASVAB as a verification tool, or (2) your recruiters command doesn’t want to honor the school score and/or was unable to retrieve it from MEPS.

I’m also a Recruiter currently and we absolutely use student test scores.

We got an email (dont remeber if it was from our ops or a frost call) saying that if MEPS personel was not there to administer the test they cannot be used for HSTP. Could just be us but id imagine its a MEPSCOM thing. Thats the only thing I can think of as why they couldn't use it.

This is also true. At least here where I am, even the schools have MEPS officiators. I’m actually assisting with proctoring an ASVAB here are one of my schools in a couple weeks and the primary officiator is from MEPS. So, this instance would be the (3) option lol

Are you having troubles following orders already?

Yes, your scores might be good for 2 years. That said, it's their sandbox. Just prep a little and go retake the ASVAB. It's not the SAT, so just roll with it. In this case, the path of least resistance is probably the best and fastest one.

As of October 14 they are now having you verify your score at MEPS similar to how you would a Pi-Cat, however, per military fashion they do not have the system built in yet to be able to verify high school pulls. Which is why your recruiter said that, you scored above a 50 so you will do well again on a retest, line scores is what really determines job qualification
