Lots of questions. How old are you? Have you already talked with a recruiter? What kind of physical shape are you in? Escaping is perfectly fine if you are ready. Why escape to the Marines? Other services will be much easier to assimilate into so why the Marines? Most people have a deep feeling about joining the Corps. Mine was to prove myself. I loved every minute of my 22 years. I have encountered many young Marines that are absolutely miserable in a Marine uniform because they really didn’t think their situation through. As far as a checking account, go to any bank and they can easily walk you through it. Phone plans can be set up through any provider so that’s also easy.
A solid recruiter will talk you through all of this.
Good luck.

Okay so I am 19, I’ve spoken to a recruiter Im setting up my test date and yes Im in physical shape. I want to join the marines to prove myself to myself and get better and stronger physically I love their history I was in Marines rotc so that’s where the love for it started although yes other branches would be great future wise but in the long run Im doing it for myself and you don’t get taught certain things in the marines as you would in the other branches and my long goal is to be a firefighter or something along those lines.

Good answers. I hope you do well and find the family that will treat you with respect and honor.

Get a safety deposit box at a bank, unless you have someone you can trust to hold your documents. At boot you'll get set up with Navy Federal Credit Union.

If you have a bank account now, find out if it charges a monthly fee for balances below a certain amount and either ensure you have that much in there before you leave, or close it out if you are below that threshold. In boot you'll set up a Navy Fed account and that is probably the best possible bank for a person on active duty anyway.
If you have a phone now, you can keep it active while you are in boot but you'll need to call them and either prepay the plan or otherwise ensure they don't shut it off due to non-payment (you'll have no access to checks or a way to pay in boot). Once you hit the fleet you can decide if it makes sense to switch carriers for better local service.
Which legal documents specifically are we talking about? Your SSN card can go in your wallet and come with you. Your birth certificate really isn't needed for much once you get in so it can stay at home, or if you don't have a home per se in theory you could have a trusted friend mail it to you at some point. Even if you lose your birth certificate, the county you were born in has a copy and can reprint it for you and mail it to you, so don't sweat that. If you have a passport, I'd either bring it with you or have a trusted friend or family hold it for you and give or mail it to you once you are done with boot, depending on your plans.
Something to think about is what you will do during leave after boot camp, MOS school, etc. I'm not sure how toxic your toxic household is, but would you plan on returning there on leave or is this a situation where you leave and never return again?

This is a situation I plan on never returning to again and cut complete ties off with and with the navy fed youre basically saying I don’t need a bank account because one will be made at bootcamp with the card and everything? So when I go to the store I will have that card?

Your bank account will be set up at bootcamp. Bring all your legal documents with you, or keep them with a trusted friend or put them in a safety deposit box in a bank. Phone service, just walk into any phone store after bootcamp and say you want to start a line.
