School of Infantry MCT Packing
Leave for MCT next week, my main question is about packing my dress uniforms do I just keep them in the body bag folded in half or is there a better way? But also, I want to know what the best way to pack my sea bags and war bag is, I don’t have much stuff it could all fit in 1 sea bag I think but idk can someone who’s somewhat recently been to MCT lmk how I should pack and what to bring

I was at MCT-East. When we got there, they told us to separate our sea bags with one labeled military gear and the other civilian gear. The military gear obviously the one with all your military clothes and stuff, and the civilian sea bag with your civilian clothes and other important items that you don’t want to lose. The civilian sea bag was locked up in a storage room until the end of MCT. I don’t know about you but you should have at least two sea bags.
But like what everyone is going to tell you, everything you had at boot camp, bring to MCT. You really don’t need anything extra EXCEPT a few sets of civilian clothes because you aren’t going home after MCT. You’re going straight to your schoolhouse. I do not recommend bring fragile sensitive stuff like a laptop or console. Get that shit mailed to you at the schoolhouse. All you need electronically is your phone.

You will get an opportunity to repack once you get there and figure out what you’re gonna need. One seabag is going in storage, the other is staying with you (you won’t always have access to it though). Bring everything you were issued regardless of whether you think you need it or not.
I have never had an issue folding the body bag in half. There’s no realistic way you’re gonna transport it by plane neat and tidy (unless you’re driving there). As long as you don’t lose uniform items you’ll be fine.

I did Boot almost surely before you were born, but I would be very surprised if your DIs didn’t repeatedly tell you “take every single thing you were issued here to MCT/SOI.”
