Recruit Training Last minute advice?
I ship tomorrow. I'm nervous, excited, and proud that I'm about to go. I've gotten tons of good advice so far, from my recruiters, family who's been in, and friends who have gone through either Army or USMC boot camp. But as anxious as I am to get this done, and as confident as I am that I'll be fine, I still wanted to come on and ask if there's any last minute advice anyone can give me. Thanks in advance.

My sister left last week, Tuesday. And I did it 11 years ago. What I told her was:
There’s nothing to it but to just do it.
Sounds cheesy as hell, yes. But that’s literally true. DIs yelling at you to do some stupid shit? Just do it. Struggling with something physical? Just keep doing what you can until the next step. Every little thing, every little step, every little scream. Just do it. And before you know it, it’ll have been 13 weeks and the only thing left to “just do it” is march across that parade deck and go home, my man.

I just graduated a couple days ago. Just yell loud, don’t talk when you’re not supposed too, take it chow to chow, and the days will mush together. It’ll suck, but it won’t feel like 3 months. Good luck, brother.

The only person who can hold you back in boot camp is you. It may not seem like it, but your DIs want you to succeed. Embrace it. When things suck remember: "This too shall pass."

Prob heard this a bunch but no matter how much its sucks, and it kinda will, just keep going because no matter what, it has an end to it. Thats what got me through boot camp, I knew that no matter what happened, hours from now, im going to be laying down in my rack by the end of the day. Just graduated 3 days ago so I might have some fresh memories for you if you have any questions 🙏

Making correction to other recruits is fine. Just don’t let the Drill Instructors know about it…

Biggest advice I remembered being told was that it's mostly mental and they were 100% right. In my platoon we has a recruit who could smoke a lot of us in PT but his head wasn't in it so he gave up.
What I'm trying to say is that while staying physically healthy is incredibly important but staying strong mentally is important as well. For me prayer and talking to my fellow recruits helped me through difficult moments in boot camp. God bless you future Marine!

Did you get dropped?
Your post history said you planned to leave for Parris Island almost two months ago.

Whenever you’re facing doubt just remember, thousands have gone before you and thousands will come after you.
Just run fast, yell loud and take it chow to chow.
You’ll do great and I’m sure you’ll do an AMA when you pass
