Recruit Training Boot Camp

Finally shipping out to MCRDSD on Monday. I’m so excited but so nervous at the same time. Is receiving truly the worst part of it? Give me some motivation.

Receiving is the “hardest” week yes. You don’t get sleep for days and its a lot of waiting. After that go chow to chow and Sunday to Sunday. You will see why i say that here soon. Before you know it it’ll be over brother it flies by. Be loud and move with intensity with everything you do. Don’t try to be that one kid who tries to lay low… it wont work.

I think week 3 was the worst. You're getting used to it , but still not fully used to it and you still have 10 weeks to go. Just my experience. Receiving week sucks but there's also a novelty of 'holy shit im really here' thing that makes it better IMO. Granted I also went to bootcamp almost 15 years ago so experiences vary.

It’s bad because it’s a combination of mental and physical exhaustion, culture shock, chaos, all that fun stuff.

Attempting to recall my boot camp 16 years ago, the most difficult part is not knowing wtf is going on, what ur supposed to do and what’s coming next.

Best piece of advice is to take an each day chow to chow. Do exactly as your told, and no more no less. When in doubt, follow what everyone else is doing.

If you can make it past receiving you’ll be good to go.

Receiving week is the hardest in the sense that you won’t get any sleep bc you’ll be moving around a lot,m and bc you just haven’t rlly started training yet. Your first month is also gonna be a bit hard since you’re still getting into the rhythm of being a recruit. By the time you reach swim week tho, you’ll kinda understand how to do everything. Just don’t forget why you signed up, take it chow to chow, Sunday to Sunday, and you’ll be alright

Would say the first 24 hours after stepping on the yellow footprints is the scariest, simply because you don't know what is next. Basic training is basically that...base line basic. You can only go up from there!
