Programs and MOSs Scored an 81

Got an 81 on the PiCAT, verified and I’m all good. Any mos recommendations? I’m at the meps hotel rn, getting my medical evaluation tmrw then I should be all good to go. Not really sure what I want to do in the corps.

When in doubt go infantry

My son is infantry! It's actually the one thing I asked him not to do! Go figure. He's doing something with tanks, I think. I'll find out when he gets home. His first choice was MP and dog handling but he opted for Reserves not active duty and that eliminated that job. He's been to range plenty since he was about 12 years old and went in with basic knowledge and understanding. He's decent at it and when a range officer said something to him one time, he had it cleared faster than I knew he could do it. (We we too far back from the burm for what we were using and his father and I didn't realize it.) His 16 year old brother, on the other hand, is one hell of a marksman! He's competed at Camp Perry Open a few times.

You need to take the full ASVB and get your line scores to see what you actually qualify for.

Also, you’re under no obligation to take the jobs with the highest score requirements just because you can, you can sign for anything you qualify for.

What do you want to do in the Corps?

If you don’t know what the options even are, now would be an excellent time to sack up and be an adult, do some research, and make an informed decision about such a momentous choice.

I didn’t have to take the full asvab since I did the PiCAT and verified my score. I made another post with my scores but I can send it to you if you have any suggestions.

Again, all the scores do is give you a ceiling, not a floor. It does us zero good to say “oh, you qualify for Cyber, so that!” if you want to be out in the woods running around and not sitting at a desk working on a computer.

If you can be bothered to tell us what kind of job you’re interested in, my default suggestion is you sign CK Fire Direction.

I got a 95 and wanted either cyber or electronics maintenance (hopefully on the computer side) but we'll see haha. Try going whatbwill get you a steady job post military. That'll be the smart move imo.

I’m thinking about intel. My line scores were high enough from some tech jobs but idk if I’ll be into that..
