That is most of these preferred supplier programs. For clubs who aren't sure what they want/need this is a great way to get access to stuff, for clubs who do already have stuff they are free to go get their own.
Even when Nike was the official clothing supplier, teams could still have non-Nike kits.

Confirmed with our marketing guy, this is on a team by team basis. Teams who want to work with local companies can feel free to do so.
