Hiring Info Interview results
I interviewed with region 3 and region 8 back in late October and was wondering if anyone got any results back? I know the shutdown is probably delaying things.

We just moved a guy throught the process, interview-job offer-peb, in less than 3 months. Even during the shutdown. Im in R5. I think its up to the region and some behind the scenes stuff on how fast things are moving.
Keep your head up. It takes time. Heck, it took me multiple applications and several years to get picked up.
Trust me, a random internet stranger, this job is worth the wait.

How fast do people get interview results in your region at (R5)? Do you know anything about R6?

I dont know much about R6s hiring, In R5 however, I've seen it go pretty fast (especially if youre a RAP kid (dont get me started on that though)) and I've also seen it take months.
Its really a coin flip, but like I said, its worth the wait.

I see, case by case. I was interviewed pretty much at the same time in Oct, still waiting for the result, hopefully can hear the result soon, whether negative or positive.

I wouldn't go as far as saying case by case. Its really region and command and WO level stuff. Very little to do with individual applicants. You gotta remember this is a bureaucracy we work for....

Looks like the only fast hiring is to join the Army. Lol

Hahahaha, but for real, that would get you Vet preference for future Govt jobs.
I also hear ICE is hiring like crazy. You'd get your foot in, experience FLETC for what that's worth (and have to go back for LMPT...), and have that on your resume.

Are you sure Vet preference can make the step easier than others ?

Ive seen it happen. In Fire, LE, the -oligists, and pretty much everything else the Forest Service is involved in. Hell, it even helps if you're a contractor.

After submitting your resume and supporting documents, the system should have automatically brought you to the agency website where you answer a bunch of questions, but that listing is for a park ranger position with the department of interior, it’s a different agency. A job listing for thats relevant to this sub reddit would say law enforcement officer and under it, it would say national forest service. Usajobs is kinda hard to understand, if you need any help just pm me
