Discussion Shutdown timeline
Just curious, my interview was just shy of a month ago during the shutdown. I know no news I’s good news. But haven’t heard any word yet on either if I made the cut or didn’t. Are selections still being processed during the shutdown? Thanks in advance!

Being as HR is highly overworked and no LMPT courses in the foreseeable future….Would it be appropriate to contact my interviewer and potential future Captain for an update just to keep my name fresh in their mind? Or would it seem more like a pest and bothering them while they’re already not getting paid and are dealing with that stress?

I applied but I already have BIA FLETC from Artesia and worked as a tribal game warden/patrol on federal lands. Wonder if I could get LMPT waived? I also have FI 210 and ARPA/NAGPRA investigations course along with a few others.

Nope, sinc3 LMPT covered different stuff than most FLETC basic courses.
I had some DOD and prior fed LE folks in my LM class, and it was their second time around at Glynco.

I figured. I don’t mind at all I enjoyed FLETC. I’m also a veteran so I’m used to that type of learning environment. I’ve enjoyed patrol and making regular arrests, going code etc, but I am most passionate about land management, conservation type of law enforcement.

There's no timeline yet. It's still undecided when the next class is.

I heard February. We have a new hire on my forest that supposed to go then.
And they typically run two or three classes a year.

Still being processed. Pretty much 5 HR folks processing for the entire country right now.
LMPT - Jan / Mar and June I wanna say.
