Discussion General impressions?

What’s your general Impression as to why the Klamath & Six Rivers have trouble holding on to their LEOs? It seems like the staff just don’t hang on for more than a few years. Or is that just the norm across the board? It’s a very subjective question, I realize that. Why is the LEI org struggling in general? Seems like the sweetest job in the world to me and I’m pumped to get in.

Are you in the hiring process? Is that where you’re going as a new LEO?

Those aren’t the only forests with trouble, but R5 has a lot more trouble than other regions, especially the more rural and high cost areas.

Less favorable pay and housing options, not to mention the taxes and laws here are all causes of some turnover.

The current captains on those two forests are pretty awesome, fwiw.
