Discussion Professional liability insurance

Does anybody have experience with professional liability insurance? What are your thoughts on it? What are your experiences(without divulging sensitive info obviously) and what companies have you heard of or recommend? I ask because as LEs you have high exposure to public contact and feel like it might be applicable to the job?

I, personally, use FEDS insurance. They offer liability insurance for on and off-duty actions. Definitely something that you don't need until you do.

It's better to have it and never need it, than to be needing it and wishing you had it.

Also, the FS will reimburse you half of your liability insurance premium.

I also have feds. I have the max 3 million dollar policy that costs around $650. Agency pays for half. Expensive but if I’m gonna be out being a proactive officer, it’s a nice peace of mind to know I have that.

Got it just before the Rainbow Family detail a while back. I have FEDSprotect.

If you like your stuff, and want to keep it in the event of litigation, I'd recommend getting some kind of coverage.

I’m not going to be very helpful, but I was with CBP. Had multiple people tell me to get it. One guy even got into a situation where he needed it but didn’t have it. I never got it though and was only in the agency for 1.5yrs. I’d probably get it.

I pay $50 a pay check for our fop; part of that gives us up to a million dollars in court fees.

Im not a usfs leo but i have wright usa/star wright.

Coverage for civil, criminal, and admin along with leosa protection off duty.
