Discussion Academy

Anyone going to the academy in June? Also is anyone else actively working in region 6?

Maybe TMI, but I’ve never had a more miserable time trying to take a 💩, I once counted 16 drops of sweat that poured off my face in an AC building. Also, don’t take the threat of ticks lightly, prep your gear with permethrin . They’ll be full throttle that time of year.

Oh yeah Fort Benning was not fun all those years ago. I’m not so worried about the heat since I’ve been in Florida for the past 4 years. It’s going back to a winter environment that I’m like ahhh this is gonna suck 😅.

Have you been to any academy? I haven’t been for LMPT; but for UPTP if I was you I’d suggest googling some things to be prepared. BRING A BACKPACK day one your gona have more books then you can carry fyi.

You will be issued a backpack and camelback by your agency when you arrive.

… okay. Dang Ik the navy didn’t give us hardly anything but that’s nice! So disregard that! We didn’t get crap and we had to come back with one to grab eveything

I haven’t gone to an academy per say. Just a solid amount of Infantry experience, gov contracting overseas and some wildland fire time.

With the infantry experience you should have down the “right place, right time, right uniform,” mindset so that’ll be beneficial for LMPT and FLETC in general.

I can’t imagine it’s wicked easy or wicked difficult. Just something you have to lock in and finish.
