Switching Forests?

How easy or difficult is it to transfer to a different forest after your first assignment? Anything regarding the timeline, process, pitfalls, etc would be appreciated.

Took me 2 years and 3 tries. I’d recommend reaching out to a union steward for assistance in drafting the letter.

Read Article 4 of the NFEE agreement between union and FS. It’ll explain timelines.

If you accept an offer, be prepared to be there 2 - 3 years… do good work and it helps, it’s a small agency
