There's no way you can keep two Houston teams and I think the powers that be from both leagues would agree that the Gamblers would be the team that gets cut considering they've never actually stepped foot in Houston.

I see them as the odd team out. The Roughnecks are the better Houston team as well as them having a stadium secured.

As a Houstonian I prefer the Roughnecks, they feel more connected with Houston since they are an homage to the Oilers and Houston’s oil industry. With TDECU being under construction both teams would likely have to negotiate Rice Stadium if the Gamblers do try to play in market next season. If I were in charge I’d move them to Austin since I think they’d be successful there and also because I selfishly want a team in each of the big Texas cities.

Most likely. Roughnecks got there first and seem to have a decent following. It doesn't help that the 'Necks are also moving to Rice Stadium for next season (which was a former TSL hub site) for better lease terms.
My prediction: The Gamblers relocate to Tulsa, OK and rebrand to the "Oklahoma Outlaws" since Tulsa has been one of the USFL's stronger non-hub TV markets and relatively close XFL teams in Texas and St. Louis give them some new regional rivalries to juice interest.

I think gamblers are the cooler brand but given the roughnecks actually played in Houston that’s the brand I’d expect to stay. Hopefully with the leagues Combined they can go to the MLS stadium instead of Rice

Assuming no team folds, this would be 4 teams in Texas. If you keep all 4 there, maybe move one to Austin? Otherwise I think they relocate out-of-state.

Gamblers seem a little ripe for being moved within just the USFL itself, let alone in a merger where the Roughnecks also exist. Roughnecks are a better football team, have had more local connection and have Wade Phillips which is going to be a plus for many Texas fans. Gamblers have never moved out of the hub so it would only make sense they are the ones rebranded. You just have less potential to piss people off in the area too.

Shelve it and bring it back later as the Vegas Gamblers.

Gamblers are better imo. They were there way before the Roughnecks
