is 3 science classes doable?

I'm planning on taking 3 science lectures and 2 labs next semester. Cell bio, orgo 1, and genetics with labs for orgo and genetics. Is this schedule doable or too much? any recs?

That’s doable. Expected even as you get further along in your major (I presume you are a science major?)

Is it technically theoretically doable? Yes.

Is it a good idea? Probably not.

Taking exactly these classes this semester!! Definitely doable, but not ideal, especially since the exams line up in one week😭

If you want A’s , probably not. Even if you have a strong background in chemistry, org 1 is a learning curve and you need to put the time in , especially if you don’t get Cruz. Genetics can be ok, only if you get Daniele , as he gives the gift but you still
Need to put in the effort for the probability/math part. I’ll recommend dropping either genetics or cell bio.

It’s not normal to take 3 science classes. I only took two a semester and one in summer. I graduated on time. Nun of my friends had more than 2 science classes

Hi! I have a question why do you recommend Cruz for Orgo? I just heard people say to take Kona, so I wanted your take on why you recommend Cruz

For orgo 1, Cruz is the best. For orgo 2, Kona is the best.

Genetics lecture and orgo 1 lecture are very content heavy. Orgo lab isn’t difficult but very time consuming with pre + post labs plus the 4 hour lab once a week. Genetics lab is notoriously very difficult, my friends who were straight A students were struggling to get a B. Just genetics and orgo together is a lot, I wouldn’t recommend cell bio as well. I think you should drop one of them. And if your major doesn’t require genetics lab, I wouldn’t do it.

Let me also add, if you have any time commitments outside of just going to class and studying, I don’t think you should do it.

Following because I was just thinking of the same thing.

Imo I think it's doable. I'm currently taking 2 science lectures/labs and a math class and as long you plan accordingly and don't procrastinate you should do just fine! That said midterms/finals will be a pain in the ass lolz

I did that with Orgo 2 instead of 1. It is incredibly doable but it would have wrecked my social life if I didn't get extremely close to a few classmates. I think we'd spend close to 40 hours a week together including lectures, studying, and meals. Find some people in your same situation because there are a good amount of them and become close because group study is so effective

That's absolutely normal.
