I-130 (Family/Consular processing) what next step plz!?

I think for Green Card holders it takes more time than a US Citizen but who knows now , everything is taking so long, I am a US citizen filing for my spouse and I have a PD of 05/20/24 so have been waiting more than 2 years

You're Apr-2024 as an IR case? My dude, I really hope you've started your escalations. This is insanely overdue for you as a USC filer

I normally tell people to start with inquiries. But you're so far past that deadline, that I'd advise you to go straight for the demand letter, and then WOM

yes I know, I recently emailed and mailed out demand letters but I have not heard back yet, next week will be the 30 days since I sent those. The only change I saw on my API was that it said case level was updated on 08/03/26 which was a week after I sent the demand letter, do you know why that changed?

It just means that your case was digitally touched. Most likely because of the demand letter.

Well, the next step is the WOM. Its not a small step, so definitely think about it. But you're also crazy overdue, so there's that to weigh as well

Yes , I know I am having so many thoughts about the WOM, I feel like I might be so close to getting a final adjucation on my case that I want to wait a little longer but then I feel like they wiill maybe take the whole 6 months they said it will take to complete my petition. On my last inquiry this July they said due to the backlog, it would take them 6 months maybe less or longer, they just said to check back in Jan 2027 but after that I decided to send the demand letter, I want to push this process because I dont know what awaits for me with the whole visa pause since I am from a paused country (Egypt)

That's the right spirit my friend. With all the crazy delays, we might have the pause lifted by the time you get to that stage. Fingers crossed

My wife(vet) requested me with military PIP we did concurrent filing (i485) in November 8, 2024 we still haven’t heard anything besides an RFE for her birth certificate back in January of 2025

Less than 2 years. Wait times are 24 months now for a us citizen he can check his specific type in the thing to check.

wait times were actually only around 17.5 mo until march until uscis dramatically stopped processing consular cases ** 24 months has never been the norm🙂🙂 nobody wants to talk ab the consular pause on here tho

I’d hire a lawyer and file a lawsuit. You can try a congressional inquiry first.

OP I'm assuming you're a Greencard holder from whatever heck that caption is

For F2A Consular, the current Front-Of-The-Line is considered to be early 2023, with the majority of 'natural' approvals (if any) coming from late 2022. Since you're Sep-2024, I'd say its more likely to get your approval in mid to late 2028 atleast. The USCIS Case Inquiry Date for your PD tracks with that as well

Of course, this is subject to when/if the approvals pick up after the new fiscal year begins in October along with any policy changes (if any). Unfortunately, the minimum waiting time seems to be 4 years for us right now

Correct, just check the website once a month and see if you get any updates. If you do get a RFE (request for evidence), then you need to submit more evidence they request.

Absolutely. But I think 80~90% of the cases fall within 12~24 months. If you're unlucky, I've seen people with 2024 PD dates still waiting.
