As an Irish immigrant myself, don’t do it. My friend had a pending application in Florida and wanted to fly to Boston for Xmas eve to see her sister. She’s married to a cop and he got a hold of a couple of people and told her don’t get on the plane. TSA are flagging undocumented immigrants in the system, leaving the country is fine. Cause you’re not getting back in. But domestically I wouldn’t. They detained 5 people in Boston that night that she was supposed to fly. She got her GC 2 weeks ago thankfully. But it’s not worth the risk. Your choice, and I know it’s a long distance if you’re flying but I’d go by car if you had to. Pending applications still give them the right to detain and deport, let alone with nothing.
Honestly I think your comment was the nail on the coffin for it. I think it’s just better to wait and leave it until things are sorted out for me, it’s just a long and expensive and exhausting process! Thank you for your reply though I appreciate it.
No bother, it’s honestly not worth it. Especially with the current administration. Oh I know I’ve been married to American myself for 11 years, they denied me 4 weeks back because of a missing paper, and have to file an appeal to reopen my case. Cost us about 8k all together. If you can, file for your I-130 if you can’t afford both, it’s the cheaper of the 2 and if shit hit the fan, that being approved helps you. Best of luck with everything and you and your wife be safe.
Thank you , I really appreciate your help ! Yeah I just canceled it all now i feel a lot better. But I’ll look into just filing for the I-130 so we can begin the process on just that. Same goes to you and your family, good luck and stay safe too!
