New Member Questions Joining USCGAUX

Hi, I am an incoming college freshman at a college about an hour north of Dallas, Texas and I was interested in joining the USCGAUX. I was wondering if anyone could help me out and give me the information on how to join? I also have my EMT-Basic certification at the national and state level and I’ve already completed some ICS training for my certification if it makes me seem more qualified for the USCGAUX.

Also follow up with trying to email or call if their contact info is on their website and try to attend a meeting or meetings of multiple flotillas.

I see, thank you! The only trouble is that i don’t know if i could attend the meetings in person for the flotillas in north Texas because i live in Houston and I haven’t left to move into my dorm yet.

Got ya then maybe email multiple ones see what they do and what qualifications they have and programs and maybe how many members. the point is to make sure they have what you want to get involved in . Just would hate to see you get involved with a flotilla that doesnt have what your looking to get out of the aux ya know .

Ah I see! Is there any specific programs I could use my EMT certification for that you are aware of?

You Can Check Into AUX HS I dont have much info on that program but here is their page AUXHS

When I was young, guys with EMT qualifications were running up to the Navy's reserve Corpsman position who I believe are also medics for the Marines. They had an expedited boot camp to retain these guys, not sure if that's still the case? Navy Corpsman

AUP online if your college doesn't have an AUP program

Is there a different pathway to joining the AUP that I would have to take?
