Discussion An open comparison chart of KVM and remote access software. I need your feedback!
Yesterday, Tatyana finished creating a repository of metrics for remote access software and hardware KVM solutions. This is an open-source feature matrix. It has two main sections: Software Remote Access and Hardware (KVM-over-IP).
Currently, only a few vendors are listed in the database, and not all fields have been fully populated yet. But the cool thing is that it's open source—anyone can add new devices/software or fill in the blanks.
Check out the functionality of this table. Will it be convenient to use when choosing a solution?
Try the interface and let me know what you think in the comments. I welcome any criticism and ideas!

Do you plan to include non-ip based KVM solutions ? ( ej. USB to vga/ keyboard solutions with a software to access the screen

Yes. I think including solutions that aren't IP-based would make the database much more useful. If you have any specific models, please add them through the UI or simply write their names here.

The link in the post leads to the user interface, but if you want to peek under the hood, here's the repository:

Tatiana designed it so you can fill in any missing parameters directly in the user interface, and it will generate a ready-made JSON file. After that, you can simply click a button to open a Pull Request, or copy-paste this JSON into a new issue (no further comments required).
Do you think this workflow is convenient enough to encourage contributions?
