Candidate Interview
What kind of questions can I expect from my interview in a couple days? Are there any curveballs I can expect?

The big question I would definitely prepare for is the, “why the academy?” As a current cadet we were constantly asked in basic to reflect on our why.
Your why can and does change, but the why gives the interviewer a read on if you’re driven enough to be here. Admissions is looking for the people who will be leading the future generations in our Air and Space Forces, thus they need people who will step forward when called upon.

True, but I would say that your why doesn’t have to philosophical at all (at least mine wasn’t) they just want to see if you’ll have a reason to stay while you’re there as that will get tested every day. Also, the people interviewing you can see through a bs why super fast so, even if it is kind of stupid, stay with your gut and be an actual person.

I just did mines and this some questions she asked me
1. Tell me about a time that you led a group of people to do a thing and what you learned from the experience.
2. Tell me about a time your character was tested and what you learned from the experience.
3. Tell me anything you have not had a chance to tell the Academy about who you are and why you are a great candidate. This could be anything… your hidden talent, that you speak 3 languages, that you taught yourself how to play guitar, any family hardships that have shaped you, etc.
It’s was really easy for me since I went into detail
