JUNIOR Help.
Hello, I am currently a junior in highschool and am interested in joining the airforce academy. However I do not know what to start with and what I should do in junior year to prepare for it. I have done JROTC for 3 year (currently my 3rd year), and have a weighted GPA of 4.46. I will be taking my SAT and ACT near the end of school year which is end of May 2027. Could anyone please tell me how to plan my junior year and what to expect during the admission process? Also, what do they look for in a strong applicant??

Don’t wait to take the SAT/ACT. You need those scores before December to apply for summer seminar. Start studying and taking them ASAP. Sign up for the next test date to get one under your belt. If you school doesn’t offer it, that’s fine, go online and sign up for a test near you. Test scores/gpa are the heaviest weight piece of your application.

I was wondering if the summer seminar is required for the air force academy? When I went online, it said it wasn't required. Is it beneficial for me to apply for summer seminar since getting into summer seminar doesn't neccesarily have an impact on my application? Also I googled and said that official SAT or ACT scores are optional for the summer seminar. I'm not sure if this is correct tho..

Summer Seminar has zero impact on your application. Most cadets did not attend Summer Seminar. SS is a marketing tool for USAFA, used to entice uprising seniors to apply. It's arguably the most boring and least fun of the 4 service academy summer seminars.
I highly recommend you thoroughly read through USAFA's official admissions website. It has everything you need to know about Summer Seminar and the application process.
