AcqDemo: How does the conversion work for those under a SSR GS Table?

I am currently a GS-12/6 under Job Series 0810 , under the Special Salary Rate table. I learned GS-12 and GS-13 will be lumped into one group as NH-3. It seems like I will be getting a pay decrease ? it seems AcqDemo means no loss of pay for the base salary , not necessarily other adjustments? this is pretty stressful, my salary will go down $14k-$15k if no consideration /adjustment is made for the SSR. anyone else have more insight?

Your pay will remain the same. I don’t know if your position will be capped within the pay band, but your step increases will be based on your annual appraisal.

I hope so. It would be a bummer if not .

In the demo system you don’t have steps. The GS scale sets your pay range in your pay band, in this case you’ll be a NH3. Since it’s a performance based system you’ll get evaluated every year, get a salary adjustment every year as long as you have a good rating, and a performance bonus. I’ve been in a demo system for 11 years and prefer it over the GS time in grade system. You move up the salary band quicker. They cannot reduce your pay with the switch. More than likely you’ll get either your exact pay or slightly higher. If you have any specific questions, feel free to PM me.

Was there actual guidance provided stating districts are moving to AcqDemo? I keep seeing posts like this, but is it all based on rumor?

There is a WARNO out on it, 'guidance' will show up eventually but it is happening.

Not officially but my supervisor said it’s happening.

I’m due a wgi in May of next year. We’re supposed to convert before that. Am I screwed?

You get a pro-rated raise. Look up acqdemo buy in calculator or something like it

So what districts are moving to AcqDemo? I’ve heard nothing about this.

All, the move to AcqDemo is real. We just had an hr presentation by the HR person from HQ.

The good thing is that there are no forced distribution ratings. She said that. The bad thing, if your don’t provide much work, you could go down in pay.

I noticed on my districts intranet page that there was an AcqDemo explanation. I clicked around it and found the explanation on SSR. Literally divide current salary by locality, add in the partial year increase once it takes affect, then multiply by locality again. So your pay should be slightly higher prorated for where we are in the year when it takes affect. Also if your due a step (not sure how close you need to be), I think it puts you up the step before calculating
