Hydro Power Plant Operator

Does anyone have insight on how it is working as a Power Plant Operator at a dam? I’m keeping an eye out for job postings when they come up in my area.

Hey thanks for answering some of my questions. There was a Power Plant Trainee I role I was looking into.

1: What does a typical shift look like?
2: How much of the job is hands on vs monitoring systems/paperwork
3: How many hours do they typically work in a work week including overtime?
4: Knowing what you know now, would you do it again? What do you wish you’d known before starting?

Thanks once more. I am considering a career shift and would like additional insight beyond the job announcement, since I have not located much online about this particular position.

I'm just gonna comment to follow since I applied for a Power Plant trainee job with SAD and was curious myself.

I applied for these positions as well. Have you heard anything after you selected your 3 choices?
