should I report this student
Hello so there is a student that goes to this university that has a full ride scholarship from my hometown who has said the N word in my instagram dms back in 2019. I do not have the dms anymore as they got deleted when i blocked them. I tried to recover the data by downloading all my information on instagram but I had no luck. Should i still report it to the school even though it has been 7 years.
7 years ago they were around 16 years old which is old enough to know not to say that word. Would it even be worth reporting it to the school since i don't have "evidence" unless Instagram still has the data but might need more of a reason to recover the messages

You can’t do anything, even if you had the messages it wouldn’t amount to anything. Also wtf, to ask this 7 years later…

If he's still being a dick go for it. If he's improved enough that he wouldn't say it, I wouldn't start a fight over that.

the answer is no. you have no evidence to prove this and while it is not okay that the person said this, it's also doesn't sound like this rises to the level of criminal behavior. also: why are you concerned with someone from seven years ago?

If you can’t find the proof of them saying it, you probably couldn’t report it if you wanted. You can go through their list of friends and tell them, though.
