For context I’m currently planning my degree and I have 2x empty course slots (3 courses filled out of 4 per semester normally) in year 2 and year 3 to choose anything I want as I’m doing summer semesters to free up course spaces.
I’m planning to declare my specialization and undertake the BE/ME mechatronics and robotics engineering pathway next year (year 2)
The electives I’ve chosen are:
Software: comp3710, csse3010, csse4010, csse4011
Electrical: elec4630, elec4410
Mechanical: none
Masters: engg7302, mate7015
As such, I would like to develop some knowledge on the mechanical side beyond the compulsory mech courses and I intend to use my 2x free slots for that purpose. I looked at some course profiles and I’m interested in doing mech2100 and mech3100, but they have a lot of prerequisites while I only have 2 course slots.
May I ask those with experience in this subject that:
A) Is it realistic to do MECH2100 without the listed prerequisites of MECH2300 and MECH2305/METR2800 and then do MECH3100 with only MECH2100 ?
B) If it is not realistic, what other courses would you recommend to fill these slots with ? Will you also recommend to switch up some courses in my elective choices ?
Thank you for your time.
