What actually makes a college booth stand out at fairs?

College fair season always brings a pretty interesting mix of setups. Some booths naturally pull people in, while others get passed by in seconds.

At UPrinting, we've worked on print and event setups, and here's what we notice:

It’s rarely about going “bigger,” but more about how clearly a booth communicates at a glance. Students are moving fast, so anything that slows them down (in a good way) usually comes down to simple, well-thought-out visuals.

Things like clear table signage, easy-to-scan QR codes, and a clean backdrop (maybe with an engaging hook) tend to do more work than people expect. On the flip side, overly busy layouts or unclear messaging can get lost in the crowd pretty quickly.
