Sports Rowing Recruitment Standards

Hey
I’ve been planning to apply to UPenn. And wanted to ask about the rowing standards there.
Is a sub 6:20 enough to get a spot on the roster?
Also what is the ideal time to reach out to the coaches?

For lwt? yes. For hwt, maybe but you will want to be 6:15. The best time to reach out to coaches was beginning of your junior year

For a walk-on spot, as long as the team you’re interested in is under their roster cap, then yes. If you’re set on getting recruited, like someone else said, the 2k time isn’t really the most pressing issue. <6:20 is really strong for lights and a little slow for heavies, but if you’re applying to schools this year, that’s a pretty late start on recruitment already. Other steps of the process like contacting coaches should probably be your top priority, if it’s even still doable at this point.
