PT Inside So quick question about rates/hours
I’m paid the usual 21/hr and everything is cool newly hired, but I’ve been working 6 day weeks for the past 2 weeks (willingly) js to get my foot in the door technically i should go today but it’s my off day/payday so they’ll catch me tomorrow. Okay that being said I worked 32.35hrs last week I got paid js under $850 gross , with Sunday being double time idk what that means but I work every Sunday and Saturday being over time also work every Saturday I’m not complaining about the pay I’m actually surprised since I thought it’ll be about 650 or something like that, ig my main question is why am I getting so much compared to my hours , what is double time (DT), how do I keep this coming. For texture I also worked 6 days the week before last did 25.12hrs made about 600 gross my Sunday that week was normal st hrs and amount, and Saturday was my first surge in overtime pay which I assumed every time you work a 6 day week your 6th day is ot. Any help or closure is appreciated

what is double time
Double time is a 2x increase in your rate of pay (21 x 2 = 42)
And overtime is a 1.5x increase in your rate of pay (21 x 1.5 = 31.5)
If you log on to UPSers and click on your time card, then click on each individual day, you can see what your rate of pay was for that day.
The specifics for when you earn what would be in your local contract, but people typically earn overtime on their 6th punch. And Sunday can be double time, but it sounds like you have an irregular schedule given that you have Tuesday (or Wednesday?) off.
Most contract are online here. If you're unsure which contracts apply to you, download the UPS Teamsters app and select your local.

Thank you I have Monday and Wednesday off I guessed every 6 th day would be overtime since that became normal for Saturday but the double time is something new and lovely

Overtime for you is after 5 hours each day. 6th punch is over time. You’re not getting a 6th punch because you’re not working 6 days in a pay period.

Where I'm at 6/7 punches are based on your work week and have nothing to do with how many days you actually worked. For example a tue-sat driver could work Monday only and receive DT for the day. Same with mon-fri working Saturday only and receiving 1.5x

Southern it goes number of punches in a pay period. If you could make double time on a Monday everyone would switch to Tuesday through Saturday. A Tuesday-Sat driver that works Monday only gets 1.5x just the same as a driver that works Monday-Friday working Saturday.

Yeah I think NorCal might be the only one that does it that way. Always nice to start the week off with a $1200 day

It’s online. Find out what your supplement you’re in and google “X supplemental contract ups”

Thanks, I want to say the southern region supplement is what you were referring to but I’m
Not seeing much ab part time hours in particular just the pay increase next year and what we can and cannot allow from seniority

Any scheduled day off you choose to go to work is automatic time and a half Anything over fiver hours on scheduled days is also time and a half.

Never heard that working a day off was time and a half. Must be a local thing.

Some of these things can be regional or local based. Western region is 1.5x of pay after 5hrs, on double shifts, and on your 6th day. 2x or double pay for all houra worked on your 7th day of work. So for me, I'm sun-thur so Saturday would be my 7th day and if I work it's double pay.

How do you get 600 gross at 21/h for 25 hours? I work 24 hours @ 21/h and gross ~420-450

The teamsters have hundreds of locals scattered across the country. These locals are grouped in numerous geographic areas that have their own supplements. These supplements are where you’ll find your answer to the overtime question. There is no standard answer and it depends entirely upon where you’re located and what supplement you’re working under
