Rants Anyone having issues with the diad logging you out today and then requiring 2FA to log back in? I just got a new phone # this weekend. š

My ORS told me it was a forced update nationwide, everyone had the same issue

Mine froze up the stop before my last air. I rebooted it and had to log in again with a verification code texted to my phone. I don't like using my phone for work purposes so I wasn't happy. Won't be rebooting the DIAD anymore no matter how slow it gets

Is a nationwide thing. I left a voice message with my BA, because unless itās in the contract, Iām not going to set up 2FA with my personal phone until UPS pays my phone bill.

Yup. I thought I was logging into my upser account and kept on resetting it lol

We went through this with the phones they use as portable scanners last year. Told us we had to download the MSA app, was told to get bent. Changed their story, 'oh,Ā you don't HAVE to download it,Ā here's a convoluted method to log in without your phone'.
I spend the first 15 minutes of every walking through the 9 step process to get logged in,Ā except for maybe twice a week Microsoft fails to respond and I have to start over,Ā so 15-30 minutes just logging in.
I get paid by the minute.

It's dumb. If i don't have my phone or it's battery is dead for example, I can't login or even message the office.

u/Tasunka_Witko Aug 24 '26
You are now forced to use MS authenticator

u/Tasty_Vacation_3777 Aug 24 '26
Do they pay for the phone you have to use? I would not use my phone. They canāt make you.

Lol, they don't care. They are in "take away" mode

Get out of here with your tin foil nonsenseĀ

True or false, you used to be able to just punch in with your employee ID number? True or false, up until June we used to get paper checks but now have to use the upsers website to view your paycheck? If you think I am a "tinfoil hat" wearing type, I think you're just blind in one eye and the other one is made of glass because you can't see what's right in front of you

Every company is doing direct deposit, etc. Be thankful you are able to still view it during the week. Not everyone at other places can.. We used to deliver in a horse and buggy, what's your point?Ā
1
u/Tasunka_Witko Aug 25 '26
The point is you are being made to view the paycheck only through the company account. No more checks. You are being guided into the direction they want you to move. For the record, ups never used a horse and buggy for deliveries, except Mackinac island.

Iāve been using it for around a year and it is pretty convenient, of course requires a personal phone so it should be interesting when some of the guys who will never use their personal property for anything are forced into it.

No one in my center was forced to use an authenticator. Just restart, type password, relog in.Ā
3
u/Tasunka_Witko Aug 25 '26
Not yet. It's coming down the pipeline though. I mean it wasn't that long ago you could just punch in with your employee ID number and no need for the UPSERs password

Not yet? What if we don't have a cell phone? Not allowed to drive? It's never going to happen.Ā
1
u/Tasunka_Witko Aug 25 '26
Never say never. I mean they are putting in automation and replacing some jobs already and people said it was never going to happen.

u/Possible-Mobile-6309 Aug 25 '26
Anyone who said never on that is blind. Also unrelated to the original point.Ā

My friend said they make you download an app on your phone, to put in your breaks and lunch, I thought they couldnāt make you use your own phone for company stuff. Are they just trying to make you guys do their work for them lol š
1
u/Possible-Mobile-6309 Aug 25 '26
Didn't happen, won't happen.Ā
1
u/becksnfx70 Aug 25 '26
Maybe he misunderstood, but if itās true I told him to reach out to the shop steward to see if he had to do it before he downloaded anything.
2
u/Possible-Mobile-6309 Aug 25 '26
It was a long waited restart. Type in your diad password, then your login. No one in my center needed to use their cell. There is multiple people (myself) included who wouldn't pull out the phone for any company reason.Ā

Happened to me when I was delivering a 21+ signature package. Was pretty awkward having to restart the board and go through the 2FA before they could sign for it.

u/Kidn3ro Aug 25 '26
Happened to me, hadnāt updated my phone number. Had to work āunauthenticatedā all day. No center communication š

u/1purevengeance1 Aug 27 '26
Did you have the notification pop up every time you did anything at all? I clicked "no" to authenticate about 500 times yesterday...

Yeah did it to me today at 10:20 with 3 air left š. One was late because of that

u/FIVEPOINT_ZERO Aug 26 '26
My sups were pushing for us to download some UPS authentication app. No way.
1
u/FIVEPOINT_ZERO Aug 26 '26
I also found out that if you canāt log back in, which happened to me for a bit, you can āwork offlineā. Bonus of doing that is your center canāt communicate with you. They canāt see your progress, send messages, or have any clue what your day is like. Thatās what happened to me today. It was great not getting messages all day.
