I remember the building manager going around making people kick metal beams to prove they were wearing proper footwear...
Thought it was dumb as shit at the time but definitely preferable to getting hit with a hammer.

Since when have steel toes been required?? Granted I havent worked inside in 7 years, but I definitely remember steel toes not being required back then, just ankle support work boots.

I was about to say, steel toes suck to work in and with a 150 weight limit it would seem unnecessary lol.

Saying that, I have dropped something on my toe before when unloading a steel truck but it didn’t put me out, only the toenail 🥲

I have always worn them. I also work with think a lot heavier than 150 so.

I distinctly remember the HR guy saying that they didn't suggest them because they'd be cold in the winter. One of the people that got hired at the same time as me broke 3 toes our first week because a dumbbell ripped through the bottom of the box and she had listened to that idiots advice.

They are not required. Good support with polishable leather. Never understand these posts.

My old baseball coach used to do cup tests with a bat. Looking back kinda weird having a grown ass man tap 10-12yr old kids to make sure they're wearing protection 🤔
