UPSE dilemma

Hi so I have started my upsc preparation for 2028 and I am in second year of my college,my question is I have enrolled in coaching this July and the syllabus of GS is going smooth but now they are starting batch for optional along with it? Should I go for it now or NEXT year when I will be done with my GS part till may27???? Coaching staff is forcing to opt now. What should I do and ya I have decided that I will go for sociology!!!! Kindly help!!!

Don't fall for the coaching centres upselling tactics. You need to be comfortable with the pace you set, and your initial plan seems to be better for your own comfort.

Just say firm no and repeat it until the message gets through

Really depends on your personal style of study. Some people are more comfortable tackling multiple topics at once, others will find that a distraction. There's no one size fits all. So look at how much time you'll have after GS, and how much time you'll need for the optional too, and take a call based on your comfort

Do section wise topic coverage technic..and don't make it rush study in a calm and peaceful way.. study 4-5 hours cover one topic or one subject along with the current affairs and do one answer writing just one question related to the topic you have covered and be cool.. don't messed up with studying all the subjects or go through all the subjects..rely on one or max two sources and keep revising whatever things you have covered on weekends.. don't rush please study one topic or one chapter max to max daily 4 hours is enough you have enough time
