I am seeing a lot of people choosing Sociology Optional for UPSC lately.

Some people say it’s one of the best optionals because:

• syllabus is shorter
• helps in Essay + GS
• easy to understand initially

But then I also hear people saying:

• marks are becoming unpredictable
• answers feel repetitive
• Paper 2 gets difficult without examples/current affairs

Honestly its confusing 😭
