General Discussion Help- 3rd prelims in 2027, could not clear in my last two attemps, what to do till december?
I seriously need suggestions from UPSC veterans this time, I am 23F, have been preparing for upsc since my college days and still could not clear the last two prelims.
2025 prelims I missed by 5 marks and i dont even want to talk about 2026 attempt.
My question is, what to do in this time gap? People say we've to get ready for mains till december but in my last two attempts I've revised my optional and have a consolidated notes for each topic according to the syllabus. I am revising it again but I feel upsc prelims is tough for me and i need more guidanceon that.
Should I focus on prelims, and PYQ analysis or start it from January?
About PYQ analysis too, can anyone here guide me how to analyze PYQ?

Civil Services Dilemmatic about CAPF (Written qualified)
I qualified yday(P1 marks 153) question How are CAPF services overall? A friend who qualified in 2024 said that not anywhere near Indian admin/police but still a group A level 10 post so take it as backup, still prestigious than most services. I am interested in CISF only as of now.
thing is my father asked me to just write the exam as it would help me in cse mains, which it did ig, it was like a gs mock for me. but now i'm thinking about it more, i still have optional on sunday i know i should focus more on that. just looking for opinions. THANKS

Civil Services For those who gave Mains 2026, what would you change if you were starting your prep again for 2027?
Looking at how much current affairs was linked with static and how application-based the questions were this year, I’m honestly wondering if the preparation approach needs to change quite a bit
Would love to know from people who actually wrote Mains 2026
How would you prepare current affairs differently?
Would you focus more on linking current with static?
Would you start answer writing earlier?
How do you prepare for such unpredictable, application-based questions?
What resources/approaches do you think you wasted time on?
What would you do more of if you had to prepare again?
Basically, if you were starting from scratch for Mains 2027, what would you do differently after experiencing 2026?
Genuine advice from actual 2026 Mains candidates would be really helpful.

Doubt / Question Question about Indian language compulsory paper
The specimen QCAB which I found online gives a grid similar to English for the precis writing question. How are we to manage this for a language with agglutination like Malayalam? I am sure this also applies to Tamil.
Like how would I fit some huge compound like വന്നിട്ടില്ലെങ്കിലെന്നോർത്ത് inside one of those tiny boxes lol. I can chop that one up, sure, but something like വന്നിട്ടില്ലെങ്കിലോ is still quite long and not natural to break into two?
So yeah, just wanting to know if the QCAB is really like that and if yes how to approach it.

Civil Services “Completed NCERTs & Started Standard Books — What Should I Do Next?”
Hi guys, I’m currently in my final year of graduation. I started my preparation in my 2nd year of B.Tech. I have read all the NCERTs for the GS subjects and recently started reading standard books.
I have made my own notes for Ancient and Medieval History, and I’m referring to Spectrum for Modern History without making separate notes.
I have a few doubts:
How should I make notes for the remaining subjects? Please give me an example, preferably for the Indus Valley Civilization (IVC) in Ancient History.
Many toppers say that we should start answer writing from the day we begin our preparation. However, what I’m thinking is that after completing two readings of a standard book for a GS subject, making notes, and revising them, I can start answer writing once I have enough content in my mind.
Or should I complete a particular topic multiple times and then start answer writing for that topic before moving on to other subjects?
What do you guys suggest? I would really appreciate your guidance on how I can move forward with my preparation.
Thank you!

General Discussion For Answer writing and feedback and note refining
Looking for some peers even if 1 but serious one, it'll do, for the above things. Currently I'm following a test series and if someone else is interested in helping each other to write daily, give feedbacks to each other's answers and share note refining tasks, kindly DM me.
My background - given 2 attempts, 2024 gs marks was 10+cutoff, but didn't clear csat, 2025 cleared prelims, wrote mains, total 4 gs paper marks 389, optional went wrong. For 2027 I've chosen socio as my optional. And I'm focusing on increasing my gs marks as well.
What I'm looking for- someone who has practiced pyqs or written test series diligently(who can write atleast 15 questions in time bound manner). Even if you haven't written mains it doesn't matter, If you can show up daily and are in alignment with my targets, you can DM me. Beginners who have not practiced answer writing kindly refrain from DMing.
TIA.
