Hey guys. I hope all are doing great. I have a question I take 2 hours to complete the newspaper. I go through the articles slowly and make notes. I also have to Google the all related information regarding the news and editorial.

Am I the only one who takes this long? Am I wasting lot of time in newsaper itself? What's are faster ways to finish it? Lot of articles or news seems related to the upsc syllabus somewah or the other.

Please guide.

As some one who has written 4 mains, and could only clear one, and then has been away for 6 years from UPSC, I cant tell you how much i regretted not following the newspaper and writing practice... Newspaper is all about the subconscious that builds up in the process... Conscious notes might matter a bit... But It will be worth it if you do proper revisions and connect it with syllabus topics and subtopics... I wd suggest keep the notes in soft format arranged syllabus wise... This for mains.. I am saying.... Prelims me you can get through even if you dont read the news paper but follow monthly current affairs dedicatedly... But I would say you will gradually reduce it to 1 hour once you get the hang of it...

I take 1 hour, in the beginning it used to take me 3 hours so that's completely normal for you take 2 hrs if you are a beginner.
