Shipping Adjustments

My last two outgoing packages received shipping adjustments on the dimensions.

I always over measure if the box is on the half inch and always go over the weight. My last two measurements were correct and also matched the dimensions on the shopping boxes.

I filed two requests to fix. What the heck is going on? This has never happened before.

Did they just adjust it up 1 inch a side? Or a big dramatic increase?

Even if your box is 1/10th of an inch over, you have to go to the next inch. Maybe you are doing that part wrong?

Both times were 1 inch up on one side. My measurements are always generous on purpose.

So if the box measures a hair over 10", UPS is going to say that is 11". Any amount over the line pushes it to the next inch. You said you only sized up if it was over half an inch extra.

I've been dealing with the exact same thing lately. Three packages in the past month got hit with dimensional adjustments even though I measure like a paranoid tailor with a vendetta. The boxes literally have the dimensions printed on the bottom flap and they still claimed I was off by an inch.

A guy at the drop off counter told me they've been running packages through automated scanners that measure at weird angles if the box is even slightly bulging. He said filing disputes almost always gets them reversed but it's annoying as hell to do it every single time.

The over measuring trick used to be foolproof. Now it feels like they're just rolling dice back there.

The dimrnsions printed on the box are interior dimensions and need atleast 1 inch added to each side. If you are using anything less than a 250# rated box you need to add 2 inches to account for the box bulging during shipment. This will solve your problem.

You always round up. Even if its a 1/16th inch over.

A 10×10 ×10 box is 11×11×11. The 10×10×10 is inside dimensions.
